Candidates for Nodaway County Sheriff speak at Candidate Forum

The Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce hosted its August primary candidate forum. Attendees heard from the candidates running for Nodaway County Sheriff.

On the Republican ticket, was current Sheriff, Randy Strong, who was asked about budget constraints.

Strong said, "We utilize grants and local trust and we'll continue to do that."

Running against Sheriff Strong on the GOP side is Doug Lager, who also talked about budget constraints.

Lager stated, "I know that former administrations have worked with a lot less money than the current administration is, and I know it can be done."

Former Nodaway County Sheriff, Darren White, will face the winner of those two because he is running unopposed on the Democratic ticket.
